Hello everyone, and welcome to C’est Favori! If you’re a lover of Shiba Inus, especially the beautiful Cream Shiba Inu, or just a fellow puppy enthusiast, you’ve come to the right place.
‘C’est favori’ – which means “It’s the favorite” in French – is going to be my little corner of the internet dedicated to sharing my life, my stories, and all the daily adventures with my brand new Cream Shiba Inu puppy!
Let me introduce you to the star of the show… (Drumroll please!) … Émi!
Émi is a 4 month-old bundle of fluffy, cream-white brown colored Shiba Inu joy. We welcomed her into our lives just a few months, 16 december 2025 and it’s already been an incredible whirlwind of puppy love, laughter, and yes, a little bit of chaos (in the cutest way possible, of course!).
Why a Cream Shiba Inu? Well, like many of you, I’ve always been captivated by the Shiba Inu breed. Their 独立性 (dokuritsu-sei – independence), their fox-like appearance, and that undeniable Shiba charm just stole my heart. And when I saw a Cream Shiba Inu… it was love at first sight. There’s something so uniquely beautiful and gentle about their cream coat.
Bringing Émi home has been an adventure already. From puppy-proofing the house (a never-ending task, it seems!), to navigating the joys of house training (we’re getting there!), every day is a new experience. She is already showing so much personality. She has the funniest little howl when she’s excited for dinner! loves to ‘bury’ her toys in the blankets, it’s the cutest thing, but she was very interested in my plants inside my home.
Especially since we live in Sorel-Tracy, Quebec, Canada, where winter is in full swing! And guess what? Émi adores the snow! Her favorite thing is bounding through the snowdrifts in our backyard, nose twitching and ears perked.
Potty training with a puppy can be… well, let’s just say challenging! But I’m so proud to say that Émi surprised us. Within just three weeks of coming home, she was reliably peeing and pooping outside! Maybe it’s the allure of the snowy backyard that made it so appealing for her from the start! And that’s not all – this little smarty-pants also learned to sit and give me her paw perfectly within just two days of training!
She’s proving to be a quick learner, which I’m sure will make for some fun (and maybe some Shiba-stubborn!) training stories to share.
But beyond being smart and outdoorsy, Émi has the sweetest personality. She’s incredibly clingy and loves to snuggle up close for cuddles – especially after a romp in the snow.
And she’s so kind and gentle, even with her puppy nips – though we are working on those! But don’t let that sweet face fool you – Émi also has a wonderfully mischievous side! She’s always finding new ways to explore and get into (minor!) trouble, keeping us on our toes and laughing every day.
This blog, ‘C’est favori,’ is for anyone who wants to share in the journey of puppy parenthood, especially with a Cream Shiba Inu. I’ll be sharing:
